Barcelona need forward reinforcements
Ronald Koeman is short on forward options for this season, with even fewer currently fit. With Ousmane Dembele, Ansu Fati and now Martin Braithwaite all out of action due to injury, only Memphis Depay, Demir and new signing Luuk de Jong are recognised forwards in his squad.

This means that, in January, the club could well be dipping back into the transfer market for another option to bolster their attack, with Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling an option according to Spanish outlet diario.as.

Will Sterling move?
Sterling, once considered untouchable in the Manchester City side, has experienced something of a fall from grace since the addition of Jack Grealish to the side this summer. The former Villa man has largely usurped his compatriot on the left flank, with Sterling only managing 1 start in the opening five games Guardiola’s side have played in all competitions.
Grealish, by contrast, has hit the ground running, providing a goal and an assist on his Champions League debut.

Sterling, on the other hand, has one goal to his name this season, and with the return of Phil Foden from injury, could fall further down the pecking order. As per AS, a summer move to Catalunya was close, but fell through.
However, Barca aim to lure the Englishman to Spain in January who, for his part, has allegedly given his “ok” for the move to go through, as he looks to keep his England place for the 2022 World Cup.
Could Sterling be plying his trade for Barca come midseason?
