Calls mount for West Ham star to be shipped out in January amid dismal Dinamo display

The West Ham faithful have taken to social media in numbers on Thursday evening, to call for the January sale of one member of David Moyes’ squad.

Orsic the difference

The Irons, at present, are of course locked in action.

Safe in the knowledge that their spot atop the Group H table had long been confirmed, West Ham welcomed Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb to the London Stadium for a Europa League clash.

David Moyes, unsurprisingly, opted to ring the changes on Thursday, with a whole host of youngsters introduced to the hosts’ line-up:

📋 Five full European debuts in Claret & Blue!

And, as things stand in the English capital, such changes have proven telling.

West Ham are currently on course for a first European defeat of the campaign, trailing by a goal to nil owing to a Mislav Orsic stunner inside five minutes:

Mislav Oršić what a hit! 😳

No stopping that, arrowed into the top corner! 🏹#UEL

‘Needs to leave’

Deep into the 2nd-half of action, despite their side’s deficit on the scoreline, however, it is not the club’s up-and-coming crop of young talent who have been singled out for the majority of the criticism on the part of West Ham’s supporters.

In fact, the situation has proven quite the opposite, with the likes of Harrison Ashby and Jamal Baptiste widely praised for their respective showings:

Ashby and baptiste are very impressive longelo also. Big half for kral games like this is where he needs to play well to be knocking on the door. Prove his worth ⚒️⚒️⚒️

On the flip side, though, one of the more senior members of David Moyes’ squad has come in for an absolute torrent of abuse.

The player in question? Andriy Yarmolenko.

In fact, amid another lifeless display on the part of the experienced Ukrainian, calls have begun to mount for ‘Yarmo’ to be moved on as early as January, with just some of the social media highlights showcased below:

Yarmolenko’s defending for the first goal is dreadful, please get him gone in January

This is why we must offload Yarmolenko in January. Just not interested, yet picking up £115k a week. I’d rather see one of the youngsters in his place.

I am holding a Yarmolenko fire sale. Two packs of gum or best offer!

Yarmo get out of my club

Yarmolenko “present but not involved” for the Dinamo goal.

He wants to go, we want him to go – an exit would be very welcome in January…

— Terry L (@AMoCS) December 9, 2021

Just get Yarmo out as soon as possible 🤦🏻‍♂️

— whufcpaul1 (@whufcpaul1) December 9, 2021
