Chelsea fans will love Patrick Vieira’s assessment of Conor Gallagher

Gallagher’s Crystal Palace stint

Conor Gallagher would sign for Crystal Palace on a season-long loan at the back end of July.

The Eagles, though, did not have the best of starts to the 2021/22 campaign.

They would begin their season under Patrick Vieira by being hammered 3-0 by Chelsea on August 14th.

Palace then met with Brentford a week later and would be held to a 0-0 draw by the Bees. Then, in the League Cup, Palace were dealt a 1-0 loss by Watford in the 2nd round.

With goals seriously hard to come by, however, central midfielder Gallagher would step up to net two superb strikes against West Ham to earn Palace a draw.

Following his brace vs West Ham, Gallagher provided an assist in the win over Tottenham and looked sharp vs both Liverpool and Brighton.

This would see Gallagher named as Palace’s Player of the Month for September:

Vieira on Gallagher

And now, before Palace’s game with Leicester on Sunday, Patrick Vieira has been discussing the midfielder.

And Chelsea fans are sure to love what the Frenchman had to say on one of their latest academy stars.

Vieira praised Gallagher for his work ethic and positive attitude before later adding that Gallagher has a big chance of getting to the highest level:

“He’s a joy to work with. His work ethic is fantastic, always positive and the way he is on the field, he is the same off it.

“He’s fantastic as a person and it’s really good to have him at the club.”

Vieira continued:

“I strongly believe he has what it takes.

“He still has parts of his game that he needs to improve, but when we’re doing feedback on his game, the way he takes in the information and the way he translates it after on the field shows me, he’s somebody that wants to improve.

“Taking information in with detail allows him to be a more complete player and for that, he has a big chance at getting to the highest level.”
