An update on the wellbeing of Liverpool star Diogo Jota has, on Thursday evening, come to the fore online.
Portuguese international Jota was of course hooked at the interval last night, when the Reds made the trip to the San Siro for a Champions League Last-16 showdown with Serie A giants Inter Milan.
Speaking post-match, Jurgen Klopp admitted that the early signs regarding his gifted attacker’s wellbeing were ‘not good’, with Jota having suffered an ankle injury.
“I don’t know. (It’s a) twisted ankle, swollen. It’s not a good sign but we have to see.”

And, if the ensuing word to have surfaced online surrounding the situation on Thursday is anything to go by, then it appears that Klopp’s concerns were well founded.
As per a number of reliable sources, medical scans carried out earlier today revealed ligament damage to Jota’s ankle, the extent of which is yet to be established.

This means that the former Wolves star is guaranteed to miss Liverpool’s Premier League meeting with Norwich City this weekend, as well as, in all likelihood, the club’s ensuing showdown with Leeds United.

Salah amongst the goals
Jota’s injury aside, Liverpool of course enjoyed a fine night in Milan on Wednesday.
This comes with the Merseyside giants having taken firm control of their Last-16 showdown with Inter, courtesy of an eventual 2-0 triumph.
Despite the Nerazzurri dominating much of the 90 minutes, late strikes on the part of Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah ensured that it was Klopp’s troops who came away victorious, to place one foot firmly in the Champions League’s quarter-finals.
