Premier League giants Chelsea have, on Monday evening, confirmed the club’s travelling squad to face Malmo, featuring a whole host of notable absentees.
Malmo lie in wait
Thomas Tuchel’s men will of course get their European endeavours back underway in 24 hours’ time.
After increasing their advantage atop the Premier League table courtesy of a dominant 3-0 downing of Newcastle United at the weekend, the Blues are set to make the trip to Sweden, for a meeting with Malmo.
Chelsea will enter proceedings aware that a 3-point haul is a must, as the capital giants attempt to hunt down Champions League Group H table-toppers Juventus.
Such a result, though, should not exactly prove too difficult to come by, with Tuchel and co. having made short work of Malmo in the reverse fixture between the sides at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago.

But injuries to Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner 😢

An otherwise stellar night’s work for Chelsea against the Swedish champions, however, was soured considerably by a pair of blows on the personnel front.
Key attacking pair Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner both limped out of the clash, with respective injury problems.
And, a fortnight later, both remain sidelined, having missed out on a spot in the Blues’ travelling party en route to Scania on Monday night.
Not only that, but, after reports pointed towards their absence from training earlier today, midfield duo Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic were left in west London, too.
And, in yet another concern for the European champions revealed a short time ago, N’Golo Kante is also set to play no part on Tuesday, instead remaining at Cobham to undergo treatment and recovery efforts:
N’Golo Kante hasn’t travelled with the Chelsea squad to Sweden to face Malmö.
Club say he’s staying in London alongside Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic for for treatment and recovery.
